What About Jesse and Faith

Well, I know you have heard a lot about Wyatt, but what have Jesse and Faith been up too? Faith as always is thinking pretty. Whether it's her pretty princesses, her pretty dresses, or her pretty hair--everything has to do with pretty. I was so happy yesterday when she decided that she wanted to wear her pretty pink cowboy boots. I wish I could have gotten a better picture, but the phone will have work.

She is always loving on and helping her mom and little brother, as long as he doesn't get in her stroller.

Jesse? He has figured out that he can race trucks on the Wii and he wants to play all day. Although after a week of playing he has already won the game--he has all the trophies, trucks, and paint jobs there are to win and he is getting a little bored with it. His dad has already put a bug in his ear to start asking for the Baja racing game for his birthday. And yes he does ask me multiple times a day.

The good part to the video gaming? 1. It keeps him entertained when I can't. 2. He now know how to play tennis with me and he is starting to get competitive. Sadly we may have two Wii addicts soon.

(sorry--for some reason pictures were not wanting to be arranged today.)

Cute Parts

People have been asking me if I think Wyatt is a Galland or a Hoopes? The Answer? I'm not really sure. He is definitely different from his siblings that are very Hoopes which makes me think that he is a Galland, but only time will tell.

But we do know this...

It looks like he is going to have light eyes. Right now they look blue. They at least are not black like his big sister and brother. (Although this is a great picture for proof.)

He has incredibly long toes and fingers. See what I mean about his big toe looking like a thumb? Note that you are only seeing half of his toes in this picture. The tops are curled below.

Last, he got his Nana's beautiful hand. Long and elegant, or manly in his case.

3 Days Old

First Night At Home--and Bit of A Reality Check--Unfortunately no more nights of doting nurses there to answer every beck and call. At 2 am, after 3 feedings, 4 diaper changes, one blowout clean-up, and unhumanly large, sore breasts, I had a whole new appreciation for the hospital and colostrum. Luckily after I fed him at 5 Ben was more than willing to change Wyatt's diaper and get him back to sleep for me. Not to mention taking the kids down in basement when they woke up and letting me sleep till about 10. I was also served breakfast in bed. So I guess he is pretty close to a nurse.

Our First Outing--Ok. So it was just a walk around the park, and even though it was deathly hot, it felt good to really move around.

The great thing about #3? I am not nearly as hi-strung. I can relax and enjoy it all a lot more. I don't sweat the small stuff so much. And when I need to sleep I can check out in a matter of moments--no more hours unwinding before I am able to pass out. I now realize that when he is crying because he doesn't like his diaper changed--that it is not the end of the world, and he will quickly stop as soon as I get the new one on. With Jesse, I was a bit of a emotional mess...

My latest favorite things about Wyatt--
1. He doesn't really cry, it's more of a squeal. He sound like a baby dinosaur. Have you ever seen Land Before Time? Just like that. It cracks me up every time.

2. He has crazy long toes, and he can spread them so much. It almost looks like he has an thumb for a big toe. He is going to be a great Yogi, or climber or something.

3. I love that he is his own guy. So many thing about him are different from his siblings and it is so much fun figuring him all out.

He really is a tiny stud, and I love that he is all mine to love forever.

We're Home--

and feeling really quite good.  I have had two great nights of sleep and feeling pretty mended.  Wyatt hardly makes a peep, he is still in his sleep coma.  The kids are loving him--maybe a little too much.  Here's some more pictures.  Who do you think he looks like?

Wyatt Galland Hoopes

Born 8-20-08 2:26 pm
7 lbs 12 oz
20 in.

Labor and delivery were seamless and great! The only glitch was me passing out just at mention of the IV, I hadn't even seen a needle. Other than that it was great. About a 7 1/2 hour labor, and I didn't even have to push-the contractions did it all on their own. Plus I got the epidural before they really started pitocin, so really no pain.

Fresh out of the belly. He has some Jesse looks but definitely not a clone of the other two. He has blond eyelashes, eyebrow and light brown/blond hair. Such a little stud!

Faith loved him and wanted to hold him the entire time and was doing her best to push everyone else away.

This is a Jesse face.

Jesse had been waiting for this day for so long. He was ready for a brother. He would kiss, hug and cuddle my belly all the time. I didn't get to see it, but when they first got to the hospital Wyatt was getting his bath and they set up a stool at the nursery so the kids could watch. Karen, our babysitter, said that when Jesse was watching him he got tears in his eyes. Wyatt is lucky to have a brother that loves him so much.

He's been such a sweet baby and we our so thankful to have the healthy little guy in our arms.

Bags are packed and I am ready to go!

Updates tomorrow...

First Day of School

The first day went off without a hitch! We got up, the kids picked out their outfits, Faith said she wanted "ponies", picked out her bow, and we even got there early. They were so excited to go and both teachers said they were great. Jesse was so excited to show Faith where to go and what to do. I am crossing my fingers that the rest of the year goes this great.

Maybe a tiny bit nervous right here.

This is old hat for J.

Update

So no, I obviously haven't had my baby--still large and in charge, but there is light at the end of the tunnel. I went in on Tuesday and the doctor said that I am dilated/effaced plenty to be induced anytime Mon-Wed next week. So we set up an appointment for 6:15 on Wednesday. That way, Ben can get his travel done for this month and I can take the kiddies to their first day of school. So if not before, Wednesday is the day--I think that both of my other kids were born on a Wednesday too.

Sadly my doctor was recently diagnosed with Lou Gerhigs disease and is now too weak to be able to deliver Wyatt. So one of the reasons I am choosing to be induced is so I will be able to deliver with his partner instead of some random Dr. I don't know. His partner delivered Jesse and we were very happy with him, so we don't mind the last minute change.

I was induced with Jesse and he was an 8 hour labor.
Induced with Faith and she was 2 hours 45 min.
So any predictions what Wyatt will be?

I don't care what it is as long as I get him safe in my arms. Once the epidural kicks in it's like a day at the Spa.

So until then, I will leave you with a few pics of Wyatt's bedroom--almost complete.

*A big orange rug should be arriving any day and will go in between the crib and changing table.

**The side table and baskets still need to be painted.

8-8-08

Wouldn't it be a great birthday?

Start visualizing the contractions.

Oh, and I can offically say...

I am going to have a baby this month!

Fun From Nana

The Nana has a fabulous habit of randomly dropping off toys that she thinks my kids might enjoy. And tonight she outdid herself with this contraption. They were overjoyed and I was even more grateful that my largely, pregnant self got to witness it all comfortably from the couch.

The other day Jesse picked up a toy and said, "Did Nana or Santa get this for me?" Shouldn't every Nana be equated with Santa?

Thanks Nana, we sure do appreciate it.
