3 Days Old

First Night At Home--and Bit of A Reality Check--Unfortunately no more nights of doting nurses there to answer every beck and call. At 2 am, after 3 feedings, 4 diaper changes, one blowout clean-up, and unhumanly large, sore breasts, I had a whole new appreciation for the hospital and colostrum. Luckily after I fed him at 5 Ben was more than willing to change Wyatt's diaper and get him back to sleep for me. Not to mention taking the kids down in basement when they woke up and letting me sleep till about 10. I was also served breakfast in bed. So I guess he is pretty close to a nurse.

Our First Outing--Ok. So it was just a walk around the park, and even though it was deathly hot, it felt good to really move around.

The great thing about #3? I am not nearly as hi-strung. I can relax and enjoy it all a lot more. I don't sweat the small stuff so much. And when I need to sleep I can check out in a matter of moments--no more hours unwinding before I am able to pass out. I now realize that when he is crying because he doesn't like his diaper changed--that it is not the end of the world, and he will quickly stop as soon as I get the new one on. With Jesse, I was a bit of a emotional mess...

My latest favorite things about Wyatt--
1. He doesn't really cry, it's more of a squeal. He sound like a baby dinosaur. Have you ever seen Land Before Time? Just like that. It cracks me up every time.

2. He has crazy long toes, and he can spread them so much. It almost looks like he has an thumb for a big toe. He is going to be a great Yogi, or climber or something.

3. I love that he is his own guy. So many thing about him are different from his siblings and it is so much fun figuring him all out.

He really is a tiny stud, and I love that he is all mine to love forever.

Congratulations Chels!!! I can't believe you have 3! Wyatt is another beautiful baby- you guys can't go wrong. I'm sure it is so fun to watch his personality grow and differ from that of his siblings. With kids in school atleast you'll have a bit of some time to enjoy just him. P.S. Shane and Hannah just moved there- they are going to living in Orem!

Chel we missed you this morning. I took Graham on a short walk and it was so lonely without all of you. I haven't been over because I have a serious cold and I would never want you or Wyatt to catch it. I'll be in touch though! If you need any errands run, etc PLEASE call me! I would love to help!

Chelsea, He is so adorable!! What beautiful children you have. I am so excited for you. I hope I a am as calm with #4 as you are with #3. I have always thought you were a patient and calm mother- a quality I much admire. He is just sweet. I am glad to hear that everything went so well.
