Playa Mujeres!

Ben and I just returned from paradise. We went to Cancun to celebrate our 7th anniversary and have a getaway before #4. It was dreamy to say the least. We stayed in a small boutique hotel, La Amada and I highly recommend it. It had a beautiful white powdered sugar beach, small mellow atmosphere--I think they have just about a hundred rooms, and the rooms, grounds, pools, food and spa were amazing. A perfect place to go and do nothing for 5 days. We just lazed, read, swam, walked, and got pampered.

View from our deck
The hotel has a beautiful Marina right next to it, so we enjoyed peeking at yachts.

Our rooftop terrace with lounge and plunge pool.
The pathway from our room to the beach, and reading view.
If you're contemplating a relaxing vacation go here! It's a new hotel and rates are really cheap for a 5 star hotel. Take advantage of the deal while it lasts. You won't regret it.

Faith's Spring Dance Recital

Faith had a dance recital yesterday and it was quite a hit. She did wonderful and had a blast with the whole thing. After this week, I don't know if I'm cut out to be a dancer's mom, with all the rehearsals and such, but she sure loves it! So I guess it's worth the hassle.
Every little girls deserves a kiss and flowers from her special guy after the show. She loves making her dad happy.

A pretty cute little Giselle isn't she?

( Sorry I was obviously watching the show and not my video recorder.)

Did I Mention...

this pretty little thing turned 4 last week? And she's as cute, spunky, and sassy as ever. Although she's tamed the sass so it only becoming. She still likes princesses, still, but is willing to wear clothes now, and not just costumes. Her favorite is to play school or restaurant, and cooks me all sorts of unimaginables. She loves to color and is getting quite skilled. She can write her name with perfect penmanship. She also has discovered her love of bikes, and is always willing to go out in the garage with her little brother. She is also excited for her little sister that is on her way. The other morning she came into our room early, ripped down the covers, lifted up my shirt, kissed my belly, then returned the covers and snuggled my belly. Hannah is going to be one lucky little sister.

The Terrorist!

Remember how I used to say how perfect and sweet Wyatt was? Well times have changed. We call him the terrorist because he strives to bring fear and destruction into our home each and every day. He makes unbelievable messes, tries to break most things he touches, and has no idea the amount of danger he puts himself in (suicide missions). Here's some evidence....

Came down from upstairs making beds to finding him like this. Luckily came down before he fell off or before he started chucking vases. And yes, he pushed the chair over there himself.

The other day I found this mess after blow drying my hair.

and just tonight our sitter texted this to us two minutes after we left. Notice the smile and the diaper on the floor.

We are no longer safe at restaurants, church, in the car, friends houses, basically anywhere. And he seems to only be content if he is outside or in the garage, and not in either by himself. Anywhere else and he's not happy. The other day he ate a tuna sandwich in the middle of a snowstorm.

Also we just got our wood floors redone, and within hours of writing the check, he decided to bring a chair in from the garage and push it in circles around the kitchen. So now my fresh floor has two chair scratch trails throughout the kitchen. Oh, and in the middle of all that, he nearly overflowed my tub, and threw the remote in to soak while he was at it. And our basement flooded that evening too, but I can't quite blame that on him. All this is just the tip of the iceberg.

Just at my height of thinking, "This guy is driving me crazy!", I went to our stake women's conference where the theme was, Finding Joy in the Journey. All the women who spoke told how they have found happiness, contentment, and peace despite their life struggles.

So I will no longer say, "I can't wait till he's two", or "Wyatt will be so much easier when..." but, I will find ways to appreciate and find joy in all his stages. And hope he doesn't kill himself in the mean time.

That fact that he's so dang cute doesn't hurt either--as evidenced below...

( Warning: this video may be long and laborious to all except his mother)

And after a weekend of conference all I can say is, I'm mighty thankful for a husband and kids.
If a naughty one year old is my biggest problem, i'd have to say I'm pretty dang lucky.

Spring Soccer

Our family is beginning to change. I used to feel like I was surrounded by babies, but I have overnight turned into the "soccer mom". Now my days are filled with who needs to be where, when? Between preschool, dance, gymnastics, soccer and play dates, I no longer try to entertain myself and kids at home, but we are always on the go trying to fit it all in. It's fun. I like it, even though I will miss the lazy days at home.

Jesse started soccer this last week and has surprisingly really taken too it. I'm surprised because until a month ago he hasn't ever really touched a ball. He's more into things with wheels. But he's awesome. His whole team is aggressive and coordinated. Their only competition is each other. I think team sports are very influential and important so I'm happy he's excited and willing.

During the games we have the benefit of this as our backdrop. Not bad?

Wyatt and Faith like going to games as much as Jesse. Wyatt thinks he can play soccer too and Faith happily cheers her brother on. Everyone likes to cuddle daddy on the blanket too.

Wyatt likes to show his goofiness off too!
Life is good.

Spring Is Beginning to Sprung...

so our flower beds look like this

and we have been enjoying some of these. While "taking a suntan"---as Jesse says.

and playing some of this

all the while looking as cute as this

Spring has also inspire some back yard improvements that started like this

and have been slightly upgraded to this. Hopefully more sod to come soon.

and all of this makes us feel like this.

Happy Spring Everyone!

Me and My Pregnant Belly...

ran the Rex Lee 5k. I was slow, but ran the whole way. I felt good, just had to pee the whole time. I wonder why?
Ben, Lisa, and Steph ran it with me too. Too bad we didn't get a picture:(
